| Six St. Johns Businesses Burglarized Article Date: 4/14/2008 Six businesses in the St. Johns area were broken into and the cash registers at four of them were removed early this (Monday) morning. Deputies responded to a report of an alarm shortly before 4:00 a.m. at a business in the 1800 block of S.R. 13 North When the deputy arrived he observed the front glass doors to two businesses, Studio 13 and Le’s Nails, smashed. It appeared that a computer at the first business was moved and attempted to be stolen, however, the suspect(s) were unsuccessful. Nothing else was reported stolen. AT the second business three personal check books were discovered missing. During this report, other deputies were dispatched to a report of criminal mischief in the Publix shopping center, in the 2700 block of Racetrack Rd. Deputies discovered the front doors to two businesses there had been shattered. The two were identified as China One and TCBY. The cash registers and a small amount of cash had been removed from the stores. Yet another deputy discovered two more burglaries at the Food Lion plaza, in the 400 block of S.R. 13 North. They were identified as Cracker’s BBQ and Hot Wok. Those two businesses also had the front glass door smashed and the two cash registers missing. No money was in the registers at the time. A brick was used to break all of the glass doors and detectives believe that the same suspect(s) committed all six of the burglaries. Deputies also located the four cash registers lying in the parking lot of Mills Field in the 1700 block of Racetrack Rd. during the investigation. Anyone with any information concerning the identity of these suspects is asked to contact the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office at (904) 824-8304. You can also remain anonymous and possibly be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 by calling CrimeStoppers at 1-(888) 277-TIPS. read more... comments: 0 Source Site: www.sjso.org | |
